Cookies and browser storage / 2026

Choose your cookie preferences

Knowing what is stored on your device helps you make an informed choice. This notice distinguishes website storage from the local actions you request in the enquiry composer.

What cookies and localStorage do

Cookies are small values a website can store through your browser; some are sent back with later requests. LocalStorage is a separate browser feature that can retain values for a website until they are removed. Either technology can support essential functions or optional features, depending on its purpose.

Non-essential storage or access requires consent where applicable law requires it. A preference choice is not permission to use unrelated information for unrelated purposes.

Storage used by the page features

The site’s own navigation, reading animations and enquiry composer do not set cookies or write to localStorage. Menu state exists only in the current page. The composer keeps the draft in the open page rather than deliberately saving a persistent browser draft.

The page code includes no advertising cookies, behavioural analytics or third-party tracking widgets. Hosting or separately supplied site-level services may have their own technical storage requirements; any applicable consent controls should identify their purposes before optional features are enabled.

Copying and downloading are different

Choosing Copy Enquiry asks the browser to place your reviewed message on the device clipboard. Choosing Download Enquiry creates a plain-text file. These are actions you request, not tracking cookies, and neither sends the enquiry to us.

Clipboard history, browser autofill, session restoration and synchronised folders are controlled by your browser or operating system. They may retain information even though the page itself does not save a draft. Consider clearing copied text and deleting unwanted downloads when using a shared device.

Managing your choices

Where a site-level consent control is presented, use its options to accept or decline optional storage. You can also inspect, block or delete cookies and other site data through your browser’s privacy settings. The exact controls differ by browser and device.

Deleting site data may remove a stored preference and cause a consent service to ask again. Blocking optional storage should not prevent reading the guides. Blocking all scripts will disable the message composer and mobile menu, but the content remains available; expanding the browser window or opening the topic links in the footer provides another route through the site.

External destinations

Public-source links and email links leave this website or open another application. Those services may use their own storage and privacy settings. This website does not control them.
